Get Schooled! Day vs Night Skincare
With class nearly back in session, boscia wants to take a moment to educate our wonderful readers on the differences between your skincare routine during the day and at night. Below, find our breakdown of skincare routines for each level of skin-savvy expertise!
Our frequent readers know that you can combine steps by finding a great moisturizer that integrates an SPF into the mix! But for those curious as to why two moisturizers can benefit the skin, read on!
Why use a different moisturizer for day and night?
Moisturizers for daytime use typically contain a lighter formula – better for controlling oil-production throughout the day, or sensitive skin that develops congestion easily. Daytime moisturizers also often contain an SPF. SPF creates a protective barrier to deflect the harmful rays of the sun. boscia uses Broad Spectrum SPF in our moisturizers – meaning our sunscreen protects from both UVA and UVB rays (the Aging and Burning rays).
Night moisturizers tend to moisturize the skin more deeply than daytime moisturizers. The skin restores itself at night and takes this time to soak in the moisture from your night cream and repair itself with any additional benefits found in your night cream.
For those who prefer to use only one moisturizer, ensure your skin stays protected by applying a sunscreen on top of your moisturizer during the day. Proceed to use the moisturizer alone at night time.
