Slow Down Aging by Breaking These Habits!
Aging is inevitable, yet many people are unaware that some of their common skin care habits are actually causing them to look older faster. Today, learn how you can break five of these habits to slow down the clock on your face!
1. Forgetting to wear sun protection everyday
Applying sun protection should always be the last step of your skin care routine, no matter which season it is, what the weather is like, or what time of day it is. Even though you may not directly see sunlight during a winter, rainy, or cloudy day, harmful UV rays still exist in the air. The same goes for night or indoors – UV rays continue to exist and can penetrate through windows. Exposing your skin to UV rays without protection can cause dark spots and breakdown of natural collagen, leading to wrinkles and loss of firmness.
2.Not fully removing makeup
You know that you need to remove all of your makeup before you go to bed every night. Yet, do you know that there are often still traces of makeup left on your skin after cleansing? When not fully removed, leftover makeup can lead to dark spots and dull-looking skin. Make sure your makeup is fully removed every night by trying our beauty tip! 3.Rubbing face while removing makeup
Do you rub your face hard when removing makeup with cleansing cloths, makeup wipes, or cotton pads? Rubbing your skin this way can cause fine lines and wrinkles to appear sooner than usual. To prevent wrinkles from forming, make sure to treat your skin like that of a baby’s and remove makeup gently, without forcefully tugging or pulling.
4.Letting water naturally dry on face
Do you pat your face dry after cleansing, or do you let the water air dry? It is important to not let your face dry naturally after cleansing, because the water will evaporate and cause your skin to become drier.
5.Not applying skin care products in an upward motion
As you age, gravity and depletion of natural collagen in skin causes wrinkles and loss of firmness. Make sure to massage your skin in an upward motion when applying products, as this helps to lift the skin.
