What’s Your Skin Type?

September 12, 2016 at 9:00 am 17 comments

Knowing your skin type is the foundation for beautiful and healthy skin; it helps you select the right products, allowing your skin to reap the most benefits they provide. In this post, we will show you how to determine your skin type and help choose the correct boscia products based on the results!

Skin types can be divided into four different categories: dry, oily, combination, and normal. An experiment that can help you determine your skin type is through cleansing. First, wash your face to remove all dirt, oil, and impurities. Then, pat your skin dry and do not apply any products for 20-30 minutes.

Skin Type 1: Dry Skin

If your skin starts to feel a bit tight and does not produce much oil, your skin type is dry. combineDry skin lacks water content and produces little to no oil. Therefore, it is important to choose skincare products that deeply hydrate and replenish moisture in skin. Our Tsubaki Oil Deep Hydration Collection is infused with Tsubaki (Camellia) Oil to replenish, hydrate, and deliver moisture deep into skin, leaving it softer and suppler. Our Sake Hydrate & Brighten Collection is also suitable for dry skin. Utilizing the power of Japanese Sake, it is very rich in vitamins and minerals to not only brighten skin, but also provide it with hydrating benefits.

Skin Type 2: Oily Skin

If your skin starts to produce oil after 20-30 minutes, your skin type is oily. When skin possesses an insufficient amount of water, it produces more oil to compensate for its lack of hydration, thereby causing oily skin. People with oily skin tend to encounter skincare concerns such as excess oil, clogged pores, and enlarged pores. Our Detoxifying Black Cleanser is a unique warming gel cleanser infused with activated charcoal that detoxifies and dissolves impurities and oil while minimizing the look of pores. To prevent oily skin from further producing excess oil, it is essential to keep it well-hydrated. Our Oil-free Hydration Moisturizers provide weightless hydration and help combat excess oil production. In addition, our Revitalizing Black Hydration Gel with activated charcoal delivers ultralight hydration while minimizing pore appearance.

Skin Type 3: Combination Skin

If your skin starts to produce oil on some areas, such as the T-zone, but feels tight on other areas, like your cheeks, your skin type is combination. Combination skin, like the name implies, has both oily and dry skin, thus making it more difficult to care for compared with other skin types. When selecting products, it is important to choose products that are suitable for oily skin for areas such as the T-zone, and products that are created for dry skin for areas with less moisture, like your cheeks.

Skin Type 4: Normal Skin

Is your skin feeling neither tight nor oily? This means that your skin type is normal! People with normal skin are balanced in water and oil and do not require products that deeply hydrate or control excess oil. However, it is still important to properly cleanse your face every day and keep it well-moisturized. Our sulfate-free Purifying Cleansing Gel is derived from amino acids to deeply cleanse skin while protecting its natural moisture barrier. Furthermore, our Self-Defense Vital Antioxidant Moisture Broad Spectrum SPF 30 is rich in antioxidants to hydrate skin and helps prevent premature signs of aging.

I have combination skin and the Purifying Cleanser and Black Mask are perfect for my skin! They give me that “clean” feeling but not so much so that it leaves my skin feeling tight or cracking. And of course, I literally own about 12 blotting packets at one time so that I have one on standby in every single place I could possibly be lol (car, work, purse, home, gym bag, husband’s car)

Combination! The purifying black cleanser is my go-to. Keeps my skin clear, but doesn’t dry out my dry areas.

I have combination skin, and I turn to Boscia for all my skincare needs. I am a huge fan of the tsubaki oil, which I use day and night, and it has completely made my skin look it’s best. I also use the detoxifying black cleanser with a konjac sponge ❤️ I would love to try the black charcoal cleansing cloths!!

I have combination skin and am acne prone as well! 😦 I have loved the make up break up cleansing oil for a long time and have gone through many bottles! It literally takes off everything but doesn’t make me oily or break out at all! I also enjoy your clear complexion tonic! It is so refreshing after cleansing and helps fight acne! I am a sucker for makeup remover wipes and would love to try these!!! ❤️🙏🏻

I purchased Boscia revitalizing black hydration gel one month ago. Love the product. Hate the packaging. I used it one time each day for 30 days and it was gone. That is more than $1.00 per day for this product. Please fix this. Spend less on the packaging and give me more product for my money.
